Fact of the Day: 23/12/2022
There have been many famous doctors who have helped the world through sickness, but one of the most impactful, especially in our current times, is Anthony Fauci. Who is Fauci? He is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and has been since 1984 (par. 1). He attended Cornell Medical College before he started working with the NIAID. He helped conduct research in the United States for HIV-AIDs, Ebola, SARS, and most recently Covid-19, and was key in developing vaccines that would save millions (par. 2, 13-14). He has also given speeches to help inform the country, and for all his efforts, has earned multiple awards, including a Presidential Medal of Freedom, as well as 45 honorary doctoral degrees (par. 17-18). Anthony Fauci has been incredibly impactful and his research has helped to keep America safe.
