Would it be crazy if I said that DNA is fireproof? Well, it is. Scientists have found that when cotton is treated with DNA, it becomes more flame retardant. This is mainly due to the fact that DNA contains an abundance of phosphate, which replaces the water in cotton fibers with phosphoric acid – allowing it to be more flame resistant!
