Fact of the Day: 04/03/2021
What is Perseverance? Although it is also a very good characteristic to possess, Perseverance is the name of the latest rover to land on Mars! The Perseverance rover landed on February 18th, 2021 and is equipped with a drill that can collect samples from the Martian surface, as well as a camera and multiple antennae to receive and send information back to Earth. It is powered by a Multi-Mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator, which converts heat from the natural radioactive decay of plutonium into electricity used to power the rover. Hopefully this amazing piece of technology lives up to its name and is able to provide us with some insight into the mysterious environment that is Mars!
