Fact of the Day: 28/10/2021
The winds on Earth can be pretty scary and destructive, especially during a high-category-ranking hurricane. This is due to wind speed—the speed at which the wind blows. A category 5 hurricane can sustain wind speeds of 157 mph or more! But wind speeds on our planet pale in comparison to those of Neptune, the planet with the fastest recorded wind speeds in the entire solar system. There, winds can move as fast as 1,100 miles per hour (~ 1,770 km/hour), which is nearly 1.5 times the speed of sound! Talk about fast winds!
