Fact of the Day: 16/11/2021

In stores like Walmart, when we go to the toy aisles, we see that a lot of the toys are Barbies. Who created the super famous Barbie doll? This inspiring person’s name is Ruth Handler. She had noticed that “..her daughter’s toy choices were limited…” (Barbie History Foundation pg. 1) and decided to do something about it. So, she created Barbie. The first Barbie doll was released on March 9, 1959. Two years later, the Ken doll was released. As time progressed, Barbie’s image expanded, growing to include Barbie commercials, Barbie vlogs, and Barbie’s own Instagram account.
