Do you remember the last time you had a delicious pizza? Have you ever wondered where pizza came from? According to National Today, “…the modern birthplace of the pizza is southwestern Italy’s Campania region, home to Naples” (“National Pizza Day” par. 2).

Did you know that the Margherita pizza is named after former Queen Margherita of Italy? King Umberto I and Queen Margherita of Italy visited Naples and tried a pizza, which was later named  Margherita pizza (par.5). If you feel like eating pizza, today is a great day to have it because …*drumroll*… it is National Pizza Day! Enjoy your pizza celebrations!
