Fact of the Day: 14/02/2022

Security cameras are very useful. They can record practically anything when they sense motion. Have you ever wondered who invented them? According to Lemelson-MIT, “African American inventor Marie Van Brittan Brown [created] . . .  the first home security system.  Her invention was the first closed-circuit television security system and paved the way for modern home security systems used today” (“Marie Van Brittan Brown”  par. 1).  She and her husband created the first CCTV surveillance system in 1966 (par. 3).  Thanks to her efforts, we can stay safe and rely on security cameras.
