There are many famous artists, including Pablo Piccaso, Leonardo Da Vinci, and so on. Today we are going to look at another famous artist, Vincent van Gogh. Who was Vincent van Gogh? According to Brittanica.com, he was a Dutch painter . . . [He] . . . sold only one artwork during his life, but in the century after his death . . . he became perhaps the most recognized painter of all time” (“Vincent van Gogh” par. 1). He was part of the Post-Impressionist movement (par. 1), and many of his paintings display scenes in a dream-like fashion conveyed through his use of brushstrokes and color. See if you can find one of van Gogh’s paintings. Do you think he is worthy of being celebrated today?
