Fact of the Day: 10/09/2021

Today’s fact is more of a tip.

If you’ve never experienced a massive technological let-down (such as a computer crash), you probably don’t place great weight on backing up your computer files by saving a copy every now and then on a hard drive or another disk. But backing up files is important because it allows you to save important information—for school, work, or any other reason—in case anything goes wrong with where you usually store your digital files.

If you’re updating your computer or making any changes that have any degree of risk associated with them, it’s always a good idea to back up your files in case something goes wrong. It’s also just a good idea to back up your files anyway in case any unexpected events turn up and, for some reason, you’re either unable to access your files or you’re forced to reinstall an operating system on your computer.

So take some time this weekend to back up your files. You’ll be grateful you did if something happens!
