Fact of the Day: 18/03/2022

Have you ever seen or used a 3D printer? A typical 3D printer uses plastic dots and makes 3D plastic items. 3D-printed houses use large 3D printers that print house components. Did you know that “[t]he White House says the U.S. currently has a housing shortage of about 4 million homes”? A host in NPR News explains, “Habitat for Humanity thinks giant 3D printers could make a difference and has now built its first two 3D-printed homes in the U.S.” (Davis-Young par. 2). In fact, 3D printers can help reduce the time it takes to build homes, and get homes up without as much labor as traditional methods. What do you think? Would 3D-printed houses make a big difference in society?
