Humans have lived on Earth, in the Milky Way galaxy, for millions of years (“How Did Humans Evolve?” par. 3-4). In that time, we have made astonishing discoveries about our universe—including determining how old our galaxy is. According to NASA, “Astronomers believe that our own Milky Way galaxy is approximately 13.6 billion years old” (“How Old Are Galaxies?” par. 2). Isn’t it so cool that the Milky Way Galaxy is so old?
