However, those spacesuits were created in 1974, which means that if you consider inflation and pricing changes, it would cost about $150 million to make one today. But why do the spacesuits cost so much? Mainly because they are essentially a human-shaped spacecraft. They include top-notch equipment to protect astronauts from the vacuum of space and provide them oxygen, communication equipment, and anything else they need to survive in space.
