Fact of the Day: 12/12/2022
Memory and thought have long been studied, but only recently do scientists think they have found a way to improve memory as people age. Everyone always tells you to eat your fruits and vegetables; studies show that the antioxidants in said foods can have a big impact on your memory and brain over time. According to CNN.com, “The cognitive score of people in the study who ate the most flavonols declined 0.4 units per decade more slowly than those who ate the fewest flavonols” (par. 2). Flavonols are antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables. They protect cells like neurons in the brain (par. 5). So, next time you are looking for a snack, some fruits and vegetables may be more beneficial than you think.
