Fact of the Day: 03/03/2022
When you look at photos of when you were younger, you may notice that you looked very different. This is due to a process called aging. Why do we age? Well, it seems that there is no exact answer, as we are still attempting to understand the process. According to The Tech Interactive, one theory says that “our genes determine how long we live . . . [another] theory is that over time, our body and our DNA get damaged until we can no longer function properly” (“The Tech Interactive” par. 3). According to Healthline.com, there are even more theories regarding why we age, some of which draw on biochemistry, genetics, random mutations, or other potential causes. As you can see, there is still some uncertainty regarding what really causes the body to age. Maybe one day we will know for sure and prolong the age a human can live.
