Fact of the Day: 09/06/2022

Did you know that the lotus is India’s national flower? According to India.gov, “[the] Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera Gaertn) . . . is a sacred flower and occupies a unique position in the art and mythology of ancient India and has been an auspicious symbol of Indian culture” (“National Symbols” par. 8). India has many different types of plants—over 47,000 species—but the lotus holds a special position in Indian culture (“National Symbols” par. 8). Do you know the national flowers of other countries?
