Fact of the Day: 19/05/2022

Probably all of us have used crayons at some point, whether for a kindergarten project or more professional artistic piece. Who or which group created the first crayon? According to crayola.com, “Records show that Europe was the birthplace of the ‘modern’ crayon. The first crayons were made from a mixture of charcoal and oil. Later, powdered pigments of various hues replaced the charcoal. It was discovered that substituting wax for the oil in the mixture made the sticks sturdier and easier to handle” (“Who invented the crayon?” par. 1). Do you still use crayons?
