When your English teacher says something like, “This [whatever ‘this’ may be] is the author’s pseudonym,” have you wondered what ‘pseudonym’ means? To answer the question, a pseudonym is “a fictitious name, especially one used by an author” (“Pseudonym”). For example, Mark Twain’s real name was Samuel Clemens, so Samuel Clemens’ pseudonym would be Mark Twain.
