Cotton is known for making comfortable clothing that is like wool but very light. Who discovered cotton and made it known? According to Masterclass, cotton has been around since B.C. times, grown predominantly in India (“What Is Cotton?” par. 5). Cotton.org adds, “Arab merchants brought cotton cloth to Europe about 800 A.D. When Columbus discovered America in 1492, he found cotton growing in the Bahama Islands. By 1500, cotton was known generally throughout the world” (“History of Cotton” par. 3). Cotton has been around for a long time. Are you thankful its use spread throughout the world?
