Have you ever heard of Petra? Although it is a part of the seven wonders of the (new) world, Petra, located in Jordan, is often overlooked as an awe-inspiring heritage site. It features ancient examples of water technology like intricate tunnels and water chambers that were not prevalent in other cities during the time. These works of water mechanics were, and still are, inspirations for water works and mechanics for current day society. In addition to being a psuedo-oasis, Petra features incredible architecture carved out of pure stone and an amphitheater featuring similar concentric seating as the Roman Colosseum.
