At 163 floors, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest building in the world! Building this incredible structure took about 5 years, with construction lasting between 2004 and 2009. In order to keep the tallest building in the world standing without gravity constantly threatening to pull it down, its structure was built similar to the ancient step pyramids, which means that it starts with large blocks at the bottom and continuously decreases in width and volume as it nears the spiral top.
