Iron Man’s suit is pure fiction, right? Not quite. Adam Savage from Mythbuster’s attempted to create a functional replica of Tony Stark’s famous suit of armor that is not only bullet and explosion-proof, but that can also fly. And he succeeded! He used 3D printers to create the parts of the suit out of powdered titanium metal that could resist a .45 caliber shotgun as well as a bomb blast. Additionally, he was able to attach 1000hp jets that let him to fly up to 15 feet in the air. Adam Savage may not have an eternal battery source connected to his chest or the charismatic wit of Tony Stark, but he was able to successfully replicate a functional Iron Man suit, and that is pretty darn cool.
