The day has finally come: it’s Groundhog Day! Groundhog Day is when the Groundhog celebrity, Punxsutawney Phil, comes out and tries to find his shadow. By tradition, if he cannot find it, there will be an early spring; if he finds it, there will be 6 more weeks of winter. According to National Today, “Studies have proven no strong correlation between a Groundhog spotting its own shadow and the arrival of spring subsequently” (par. 6). Further, only about 39% of the Groundhog’s predictions are accurate (par. 27). Still, we celebrate the holiday, and it’s nevertheless fun to watch Phil find his shadow, so here are some things you can do today:

• Go to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and watch Phil find his shadow (par. 23). 
• Watch the classic Groundhog Day movie .
