Fact of the Day: 04/05/2022
Most U.S. presidents throughout American history have only served 2 terms. However, there are exceptions. Did you know there was one president who served a total of 4 terms? According to NY History.org, “On November 7, 1944, Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to an unprecedented fourth term as president” (“How Did FDR Serve Four Terms As President?” par. 1). Until Roosevelt’s time, the 2-term limit was a tradition, not an actual law (par. 2), but following his tenure, the Constitution was amended to mandate that presidents could only serve two terms (par. 3). Do you know of presidential term limits in other countries?
