Is albinism the same as leucism? Not at all! Albinism is the complete loss of pigmentation in an animal. It is characterized by white skin and hair, and red eyes. On the other hand, leucism is only the partial loss of pigmentation. While an animal with leucism may display the same white skin and hair as an animal with albinism, it will never have red eyes.
