What is a TLD?

A top-level domain (TLD) is a two- or three-letter word that follows the domain name of a URL. It’s typically found after the period (“.”). Common TLDs include com, gov, edu, net, and org. You may also find TLDs specific to countries, such as uk (for the United Kingdom) and ca (for Canada).

The TLD of this website, pearsononlineacademy.com, is the “com” that follows the period.
