Fact of the Day: 16/02/2022
Online shopping has now become a norm. Through the click of a button, we can get things faster than we could by going to the store itself. What are the origins of high-speed online shopping? According to BBC, online shopping first started in 1984 (par. 8). Michael Aldrich created a system called “Videotex” to help disabled and elderly people order goods online (par. 9–11). Only after NetMarket, a new system, was developed by Daniel M. Khon in 1994, however, did virtual shopping become open to all (par. 12). Without the efforts of Micheal Aldrich and Daniel Khon, we would never have had online shopping.
