Fact of the Day: 20/04/2022

Humans have come a long way in space exploration, from making the first orbital flights to landing people on the moon! One of our biggest accomplishments is the establishment of the International Space Station (ISS). However, the ISS is not the first space station humans have ever built. What was the first one? According to History.com, “The first space station in Earth orbit was the Soviet Salyut 1 station, which was launched in 1971” (“The History of Space Exploration” par. 8). Do you think the launching of the first space station made a big difference in space exploration?
