Recall the last time you looked up at the starry night sky. A beautiful sight, right? Well, what if I told you that most of the stars you were looking at weren’t even there? Since many stars are millions or even billions of light years away, it takes incredibly long (millions or billions of years) for their light to reach Earth and, subsequently, the human eye. Thus, many stars can die (or collapse) in their galaxy, while we, on Earth, still look up into the sky and marvel at their beautiful light that isn’t even there – really, their ghosts!
